BaLinkBayan – Negros Occidental

Negros Occidental is home of thousands Overseas Filipino Workers deployed to different parts of the world. They are one of the significant contributors to the economic development and activities in the province with an annual remittance estimate of more than 12 Billion pesos.

This steady inflow of remittances to the province of Negros Occidental and the growing awareness of its potential for sustenance and development enabled the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) and the Negros Occidental Provincial Government through its Migration and Development Initiative (MDI) under the Public Employment Service Office(PESO) in partnership with the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions (LEDIP) Office to establish BaLinkBayan in Negros Occidental.

This program promotes and supports diaspora-driven initiatives such as investment, philanthropy, and technology and skills transfer.

What is the meaning of BaLinkBayan?

A quip on the Filipino word “balikbayan” (a returning overseas Filipino) and “link” (internet connotation), BaLinkBayan is a means to connect Filipino individuals and communities to the Philippines.
